hi…it’s been a while.
if you’re new here, welcome. i’m happy to have you here. and if you’ve been here before, thank you for still being here.
i’m not gonna over-explain the time away. 3 years is a lot to catch y'all up on. just know, ya girl has been living, learning, shifting, refining. and more than anything, i’ve been getting clear about the kind of spaces i want to create + be a part of moving forward.
last month, i had the chance to co-host Soft Return with Destiny of Serenity Skin. she focuses on creating body-loving skincare that supports confidence + self-care. our event was intimate, regulating, and honestly very special. thank you to everyone who showed up and shared that space with us. shoutout to the ladies who fell asleep on their mats during the meditation lol!
and even with how beautiful it was, the experience stayed with me in a different way than i expected. there was a moment after, where instead of holding onto the goodie bags that were left, Destiny and I stepped onto the streets of Midtown Manhattan. i walked with her as she started offering it to people directly. no big setup. no strategy or script. just a real moment of human exchange. and something clicked as i watched her do this.
i realized how much i’ve been overthinking what it means to show up. waiting for the "perfect" conditions, the "perfect" structure, the "perfect" response, the "perfect" time. when really, i’m being asked to step out of that, and just let my work be experienced in real time, instead of waiting for everything to be perfectly in place.
Melanie, Aquí. feels like a piece of this approach.
as i move forward, i’m becoming more mindful about the kinds of spaces i create + what i am contributing to the world through my essence, my becoming, and my work. the mission is to deliver offerings that are both practical and purposeful to my community.
with that in mind, i’m starting something simple to take steps toward that. beginning this Sunday, i’ll be offering back to body, a monthly guided meditation, held every third Sunday at 11am. these will be quiet and grounding sessions during these loud and wrong times.
this is a “pay-what-you-can” offering, with a suggested donation of $5 or more. the goal is to keep it accessible, while still honoring the energy it takes to hold space in this way.
if you feel aligned, here’s the invite.
no pressure or expectations. just an open invitation to return to yourself, softly.
ttyl,
Melanie
